The type of person who books a photoshoot
An equine photoshoot isn’t something that just anyone books. I know that there are some people out there who find the idea of booking a shoot absurd, it’s just not for them. And that’s fine, because those of us who take photos for a living aren’t here for them.
We’re here for the people who appreciate beautiful photos, who appreciate art for their walls, personal art that wasn’t just mass produced and picked out by thousands.
We’re here for those who see their horse is an essential part of their social life (by that I mean that through equestrianism is where their social circle lies, the riding club, the friends they only see on the hunting field, their hacking buddy), a way to connect with those who we normally wouldn’t connect with.
Through riding and the joy of owning a horse, we’re able to go places where others can’t, where others won’t. We push the limits, take pleasure in the refinement of improving ourselves as horsewomen and as humans, because we know that there’s some lessons that are best learnt though horses.
A horse is, in essence, often an extension of ourselves, a living, breathing, portrayal of the things we love: strength, beauty, athleticism, freedom, power, and infinite possibility.
When you see the horse like this, you see his potential for art. You understand how important he is, and rejoice in the beauty of all the elements that make him whole. He is both a treasured companion, and a work of art in and of himself.
A photoshoot isn’t for those who need convincing of the importance of art, especially equestrian art. It isn’t for those who do not see the divine beauty within these magnificent animals and do not understand the potential and blessing that is beholden to them through owning a horse. It is not for those who do not recognise the doors that have been opened for them through ownership.
It is for those who understand why art is a crucial part of the human experience, who recognise that the horse is a living, breathing work of art that we are blessed to share a partnership with, and grasp the limitless potential we are handed when we take up the reins.
